Humpty Dumpty....

Well thankfully I didn't sit on a wall but I did have a big fall. My big fall was I haven't worked out in about a week & a half & I feel like garbage.   I have been nauseous for the past 2 days but other then that I have no excuse for not working out. My eating hasn't been horrible but as usual I haven't been making all my points but I have been close.Tomorrow I am going to get back to exercising I want to try for at least 4 days this week I need to start pushing myself a bit more.

The upside is that this is the first time in 2012 that I have felt under the weather at all (knock on wood). This is a serious improvement from 2011. I guess taking your vitamins everyday & eating good does make a difference.  Thanks to MIO I have been drinking a lot more water. I also drink plain water. Instead of buying bottled water we reuse the gallon jugs that you get when you buy water in the store. We have water fill stations around the neighborhood so for 35 cents you can refill it back up.  I hate the taste of tap water. I really need to get around to a water filer for the sink but even if it tastes better water from the tap is never cold enough.

I need to get more in depth with the groups & boards on Weight Watchers. There are times I want to talk with people about weight stuff & to be honest I don't really have  very many people around here to do that with. The ones I know either don't care they are big or don't think they are & continue to do unhealthy stuff. Or you have the people who think that being a size 10 means that need to lose weight. I do talk to MG about things but he doesn't have a weight problem so even though he listens & talks to me it isn't really the same.

Why I Want To Lose Weight & Get Healthy.....

Everyone has always told me when you need to clear you hear or you need to find some direction all you have to do is write. Whether it makes sense to you or anyone else just write it all down. So that is what I am going to do. I am going to make a list of all the reasons I can think for why I want to lose weight & get healthy so next time I am feeling down or need the motivation to work out & keep on track I have this post to look back at.  In no particular order...

  1. Be able to walk down the aisle & not be in pain or out of breath.
  2. Sick & tired of being sick & tired.
  3. Be able to buy clothes off the rack.
  4. Sit comfortably in a airline seat
  5. Sit in a car for a long ride comfortably
  6. Sleep better
  7. Lower my blood pressure
  8. Get my type 2 Diabetes under control
  9. See my nieces & nephews live their lives
  10. Buy jewelry from a store & have it fit.
  11. Live a long life with the love of my life.
  12. Be able to cross my legs
  13. Feel better overall in general
  14. Be happy/comfortable in my own skin.
  15. Take ballroom dancing lessons
  16. Walk in a Cancer & Heart walk
  17. Get a massage
I will add more to the list as I can think of them.  What are your reasons for getting healthy.

How Does Skinny Feel ???

I have been seeing this saying rolling around the weight lose community for awhile now. The saying is "Nothing taste as good as skinny feels". Now here is my question to that statement. What if you have never been skinny ? What if you don't know what skinny feels like. We all know what skinny looks like or if you look at magazines what its suppose to look like. I am sorry but if skinny means looking like death with your ribs showing than I don't want to look like that kind of skinny.

I have never been skinny at any point in my life. I was never the smallest but also I was never the biggest as a kid. I have always been as some called it big boned, heavyset whatever you care to call it. I packed on a lot of weight about the time I turned 17 due to some heath issues. Over the years my weight went up & down until I started having back problems.

I woke up one morning with a sore back I just figured it was the way I slept & thought nothing up it well as time passed it only got worse & I was diagnosed with Sciatica.  According to all the Dr.s I have seen its due to my weight. Well as the pain in my back got worse I stopped being mobile as much as possible.  With limited movement I packed on the pounds like I was squirrel packing in the nuts for the Winter.

After being diagnosed with that came the next blow of being diagnosed with PCOS & being a type 2 Diabetic. I also have a case of Lymphedema of the leg( which makes working out extremely hard). But anyways back to the topic of how skinny feels. I have no clue how skinny feels & to be honest I don't  need to know how skinny feels.

The only feeling I care to feel is the feeling of being HEALTHY. That is all I care about I will never be skinny at least not skinny by the standards out there in this day & age. I have no problem being considered Plus Size as long as I am healthy. I would love to step on the scale & have to say 200lbs. Now I am sure some of you reading this are saying omg 200lbs. Yes it may seen like a lot of weight but it would be a huge (no pun intended) improvement over what I weight now & yea I am not ready to let those numbers fly right now.  So what does skinny feel like to you ??

Work It..

I worked out last night & tonight. This is the first time I have done so two days in a row. I am not doing anything overly intense. I use the videos on the Weight Watchers along with my resistance bands & I am also using some Xbox games. We have Your Shape (the 1st one) and The Biggest Loser. I had to put The Biggest Loser one on hold Bob can be a dick lol. I need to work up to that one.

I hurt after working out but I guess that is good right. No pain no gain. Someone told me pain is the weakness leaving your body. If that is the case man a lot of weakness is leaving.  At some point I want to try Zumba class but I think I will get the Xbox game & do that first. I need to drop some pounds before I start shaking this rump roast in public like they do in the videos lol. I am working on a work out playlist I don't have a lot of songs yet but anyone reading this if you can recommend any good work out music I would appreciate it.

Water, Water Needed Everywhere...

So moving into week 2 on Weight Watchers I still have 2 problems that I need to conquer. The first is using all my points. Screw it right this blog is all about being real with myself  & not sugar coating it so I am just going to throw it out there. My daily amount of points is 67. I will wait while you pick your jaw up off the floor. So you can imagine with 67 points I have a huge amount of weight to lose at least 200+.

My other problem is I can't seem to remember to actually drink my water WHILE I am eating.  Mind you I have my bottle right there with me when I am eating & I catch myself  a few times while I am eating but a majority of the time I don't drink a lot of it until after I eat. If you have any pointers I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

I have started doing some exercises with the weights & resistance bands. I am enjoying it but I need to do it more. I want to work with them at least 4 times a week. I have been using the videos on Sparks People I also want to look through the videos on Weight Watchers to see what they have.

I tried Pop chips the other day with my lunch & they were delicious I tried Sour Cream & Onion they have a few more varieties I want to try. I am also becoming a fan of Skinny Cow. I have to say food companies have come a long way I remember the days when food that was suppose to be good for you looked & tasted horrid thank goodness for the most part those days have passed. Lets be honest a few people still make food that are horrible.

I need to get to blogging more here I think it would do me some good to get things out of my head & down here to help me keep going.

Start Back at One...

That is exactly what I am doing at this moment. I let time get away from me while trying to cope with the loss of my Mother in Law in January. While  at the time I wasn't eating horribly but I also wasn't tracking what I was eating. The next thing I know here we are in March & I am still not tracking & also not eating the best stuff that I should be.

So today I start back at week 1. I don't consider this a failure I see it as I took a detour off the road & now I am back on the right road again. It would have only been  failure had I continued to detour.

My poor stomach has been in such disarray since I stop eating right. I feel sluggish, sleeping like garbage again & just overall feeling blah which I hate. I also have started working out I got some resistance bands along with some weights. MG & I also got a Xbox Kinect to work out with. I have to say the sensor is a bit anal but its a lot of fun.

I am slowly working my way into workouts its been ages since I actually worked out. Granted it hurts a bit but it feels good to work up a sweat even though I do drop a couple of F bombs here & there. So March 9th, 2012 I declare my first day of WW. I need to start utilizing the tools in case I feel myself slipping I can get some help to stay in check.

Newst Addition......

This was the item I was hinting to in my January 22nd post. I am loving this book immensely. There is a ton of recipes in this book it is worth the money. I paid 29.95 for it but we also got a discount off at MG's job. Regardless had we not got a discount off I would have still purchased the book.

All the recipes include new Weight Watchers Points Plus values. Before I started WW I picked up a couple of their recipe books from the library but I think I am going to return them & work from this one for the time being.

I am in the process of looking into buying a scale because sadly as bad as I am sure its going to be I need to know exactly how much I weigh.  I am also looking into a weight west to get moving on the exercise front. I need to get this body moving more.

I would love to hear any recommendations that any of you out there reading this about scales, weight sets or other exercise equipment that you think is wonderful & that maybe I should look into.
